How to Cloak your Affiliate URL

If you're looking for a way to cloak those ugly affiliate URL's, there's a couple of effective ways to do so. Here are the methods I use with great effectiveness:

Obtain a domain that you will use for URL cloaks from a domain registrar such as GoDaddy or NameCheap. Alternately, you can use a domain you already own if you want to. Let's use one of my sites as an example - www.dogexpert.info.

1. Then, get yourself a free hosting account from a service like 000WebHost.com and host your new domain there if needed.

2. Then, create a subdirectory in your hosting account that relates to your affiliate product. For example:

/dog-training-secrets/

3. Next, create a file called index.html, and add the following HTML in the file:

<meta equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=[your affiliate URL here]">

4. Now, upload this file your newly created directory. You're done! Your new affiliate URL is:

http://www.dogexpert.info/dog-training-secrets/

Much better looking than your old affiliate URL, yes? What you've just done is created a redirect file, which redirects anyone who requests it to another URL.

There's several other ways of creating a redirect, but this is the easiest. There are also ways of creating masked redirects, which will mask the new URL so that your visitor never actually sees it.

Anyone interested in learning how to do this, or interested in having me create a video how-to on the subject, please let me know.
